“Leaves Reimagined”

Suzanne Scott Constantine and
Lynne Scott Constantine, 2020
mixed media assemblage, 24″ x 36″ x 6″

This hanging art object is made of a tree branch, gold-painted leaves from a rubber tree plant that belonged to my mother who died in 2003, and many crackle-laden leaf-like pieces of deli-paper painted with various metallic paints to resemble leaves. The artwork is held together with hemp twine, and it serves as an emblem of the ways we are tethered to each other and to every living part of our environment.
