In kintsugi, the Japanese art of mending broken crockery, artists use a mixture of gold and tree sap to turn cracks into beautiful sutures, visible and glorious, an etched history of survival.

Kintsugi teaches us that our work in the ongoing repair of our world does not have to result in smooth perfection; beautifully truthful and fully functional imperfection is an equally valuable outcome.
