In this section of the Phoenix Process metaphor, the figure relaxes, flattens her body and shape-shifts to conform to the back of the mythic bird. Although the transformation threatens to engulf, it will succeed; she is in the process, and she is trusting.
She will be carried effortlessly, light as a feather, on the air currents spawned by the wings of the great bird. She begins to believe in the Phoenix Process and to trust that she will rise to a more authentic self.
