This little image represents for me the culmination of the Phoenix Process and the liberatory growth that follows. The feather lives and soars in the now, carrying with it optimism and aspiration borne of hard-won spiritual victory. As Emily Dickinson wrote, “Hope is the thing with feathers-/That perches in the soul.” A feather aloft calls out to that inner being and helps us to go on.
